How long does laser hair removal take?
Laser hair removal has become one of the most popular treatments to reduce unwanted hair. Compared to shaving, waxing, and other methods, laser hair removal is permanent.
A laser hair removal treatment normally takes around 15 to 30 minutes. However, the period of your treatment session depends on these factors, such as the body area size you are treating and the number of areas you are treating. If your only goal is to remove unwanted hair from a small area, like your chin or underarms, the laser therapy portion of your session may only take five minutes.

However, if you aim to remove unwanted hair from your back, chest, upper abdomen, and lower abdomen, your treatment may take closer to an hour. The exact length of your treatment session will depend on the size of the area that you are targeting.
For instance, we will only need five to ten minutes to remove hair from a small location on your body. If you want to remove hair on a larger area of your body, such as your legs or back, your treatment will take between 30 and 60 minutes to complete.

Results of Laser hair removal
1st treatment | In the 1st laser hair removal treatment, the doctor will understand your skin and hair condition to let you adapt your laser hair removal procedure. Almost half of the hair can be removed in the 1st treatment. |
2nd treatment | After your first laser hair removal session, you should have seen an immediate difference in the treatment area, but by this time some hair may be growing back and hair growth may be patchy. |
3rd treatment | At this point, hair growth should be noticeably slowing down, but you will still need at least one more treatment to stop future hair regrowth for a while. |
4th treatment | By treatment 4, patches of hair should be minimal, although they may still be present. Hair growth should be significantly slower and less dense from your first session to now. |
5th treatment | In the 1st laser hair removal treatment, the doctor will understand you skin and hair condition to let you adapt your laser hair removal procedure. Almost half of the hair can be removed in the 1st treatment. |
6th treatment | Some people will not need any further laser hair removal treatments after 5 treatments, but others will. This will depend on your hair, how you’ve been caring for the treatment area, and how well your hair follicle reacts to the laser. If hair is still growing or patches (even small ones) are present, more hair removal appointments will be needed. It’s not abnormal to receive up to 8 treatments before hair growth is halted. |
How Soon Can I See Results From Laser Hair Removal?
A lot of people can observe hair fall out in 3 days after their laser hair removal session. The hair follicles in the targeted areas are damaged with each laser pulse.
When the hair follicles are destroyed, they release the hairs they were growing, and they can’t grow any more hairs. The number of sessions is decided by the person’s skin type, hair color, and thickness.
Hair is darker and the skin is lighter.
Due to the hair growth cycle, we need multiple sessions per targeted area because the laser can only destroy hair follicles in the active growth phase. The reason is, that hair follicles in the same treatment area are in different stages at the same time.
Normally it takes at least 4 to 6 sessions for long-term results.
How Long Will the Results of My Treatment Last?
Generally, laser hair removal is a permanent treatment. In medicine, permanent hair removal means the results last over 3 years. It is not uncommon for laser hair removal results to last a lifetime once all of the hair follicles in the treatment area have been destroyed. However, you should keep in mind that there is a chance you will need a touch-up treatment in the future.
Even though throughout several treatments, laser therapy can destroy every hair follicle in a targeted area, there is a chance that your body will grow new hair follicles in the treated area.
How Often Can I Get Laser Hair Removal Treatment?
The sessions depend on skin type, hair type, and other factors. The period can last from 4 to 10 sessions. According to the hair growth cycle, we suggest doing another session 3 or 4 weeks after the 1st session.
